Ukrainian energy" is a unique platform for disclosure, analysis and publication of information in the energy sector, access to which is restricted or closed.

The website was founded with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation in July 2007 by experts of the Center for investigative journalism in the energy field (created by the School for Policy Analysis at the National University Kyiv-Mohyla Academy). In January 2009 the activity of "Ukrainian Energy" was renewed in new format.

In 2017 the website was updated within the project "Transparent Energy", performed by the analytical center DiXi Group and funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID). The project aims to fight corruption and improve financial transparency in the energy sector of Ukraine.

Today the website is one of the unique Internet- media on energy issues, which on a daily basis publishes news in energy sphere, hot investigations, analytical notes, popular articles and materials of foreign think-tanks, reports from key industry events, blogs, interviews and expert commentaries.

Exclusive content of the website is an interactive online map that exemplifies flows of resources, material and financial, from production (import) to consumption. Also the map shows the "black boxes", or information gaps in energy sector, which are to be the subject of further journalist investigations. Disclosure of "black boxes" are ment to be a push for systemic change and improve of financial transparency in the energy sector

"Ukrainian Energy" constantly provides information support for round tables, business forums, conferences, seminars, exhibitions, meetings and other events related to the energy issues. Every day, the website sends an exclusive newsletter for its own database of contacts which has more than 800 recipients (both Ukrainian and English version).
