The government has opened access to "warm loans" for the houses that do not have centralized heating

01 August 2017

From now on, co-owners associations and house development cooperatives in the buildings that are not connected to the centralized heating system will be able to freely participate in the “warm loans” program and receive appropriate state financial support for the implementation of energy efficient measures.

This is stated in the Government's resolution, which was prepared jointly with the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine and adopted today, on July 12, at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

Home heat metering used to be a prerequisite for participation in the “warm loans” program for all co-owners associations and house development cooperatives. The introduction of metering is a prerequisite for energy-efficient behavior of the residents of houses and implementation of measures for the heat insulation of buildings.

"At the same time, more and more desire to make use of the state support for the heat insulation of buildings is expressed by the co-owners associations from the houses with autonomous heating where there are no heat metering devices, but there is gas consumption metering. Now we have eliminated the obstacle and co-owners associations from the houses with autonomous heating can attract "warm loans" and receive partial compensation for the cost of insulation," said the Head of the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving Serhii Savchuk.

We should remind that in 2017, the “warm loans” program is in great demand among co-owners associations. Whereas in 2016, 10-15 co-owners associations became participants of the program per week, this year already 20-30 co-owners associations have joined the program. According to the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving, last week the largest Ukrainian "warm loan" for a co-owners association was attracted for almost UAH 10 million.

During two years of the program operation, it has benefited 960 co-owners associations, attracting more than UAH 144 million for energy-efficient measures.
