Ukrainians may face gas supply schedules

In the winter of 2024-2025, Ukrainians can expect a 12-hour power outage and possible gas supply schedules. The situation will depend on weather conditions and the availability of sufficient gas reserves against the background of a possible stoppage of Russian gas transit.
Yuriy Korolchuk, an expert at the Institute of Energy Strategies, told about it. Power outages can last at least 12 hours a day. This is an optimistic scenario for the colder months.
The main reason is power system overload. This will significantly increase during winter frosts, when the demand for electricity will be maximum. This will lead to an additional load on transformers, substations and other infrastructure.
The pessimistic scenario foresees even longer power outages and even tighter gas supply schedules.
