Energoatom plans to build the fifth power unit of the Rivne NPP
Approved road map
A meeting of the working group on the construction of the fifth power unit of the Rivne NPP was held in the town of Varash in the Rivne region.
The "Roadmap for the implementation of the feasibility study and project documentation for the construction of power unit No. 5 of the RANP" was presented. The document was approved last week by acting Chairman of the Board of NAEK "Energoatom". This was reported by Varas city mayor Oleksandr Menzul.
The roadmap includes the following steps on the way from project development to construction:
• Priority and organizational measures.
• Carrying out pre-project works.
• Development of a technical and economic justification.
• Carrying out the environmental impact assessment procedure.
• Preparation of the draft law of Ukraine "On the placement, design and construction of power unit No. 5 with the AP1000 reactor unit at the Rivne NPP", approval of the Parliament of the Verkhovna Rada.
• Project development.
Estimated dates for approving the construction project of the new power unit are set for 2029.
