Electricity consumption in Ukraine decreased on August 1

01 August 2025

Clear weather in most regions ensures the efficient operation of household solar power plants (SPPs), so it is advisable to shift active energy consumption to daytime hours - from 10:00 to 15:00

According to the press service of NPC Ukrenergo, electricity consumption in Ukraine decreased today, Friday, August 1. As of 9:30 a.m., its level was 5.1% lower than on the morning of the previous day, Thursday.

The transmission system operator cites the decrease in heat as the reason for this. In addition, sunny weather in most regions (except for the northeastern regions) leads to the efficient operation of household solar power plants and a corresponding reduction in energy consumption from the general network, Ukrenergo explains.

Yesterday, July 31, the daily maximum consumption was recorded in the evening. It was 4.5% lower than the maximum of the previous day - on Wednesday, July 30. This is due to the establishment of moderate air temperatures throughout Ukraine.

On August 1, the country's power system is balanced, and no planned restrictions for consumers are foreseen, the Ministry of Energy assures.

Given the weather conditions today, it is advisable to postpone active energy consumption to the period of the most effective operation of solar power plants, that is, it is best to use powerful electrical appliances from 10:00 to 15:00, Ukrenergo emphasizes.

As reported by "Ukrainian Energy", the World Bank will strengthen support for Ukraine in the energy sector. In particular, in the restoration and protection of energy infrastructure, the creation of equipment reserves for operational repairs, the development of the scientific potential of the Chernobyl NPP.
