Electricity consumption in Ukraine increased on June 19 - Ukrenergo
The reason is more cloud cover in several regions than the previous day, which reduces the productivity of household solar power plants
According to the press service of NPC Ukrenergo, electricity consumption increased today, Thursday, June 19. As of 9:30 a.m., its level was 3.1% higher than the previous day, Wednesday.
The transmission system operator cites higher cloud cover in several regions compared to the previous day as the reason for these changes. This results in lower productivity of household solar power plants (SPPs) and a corresponding increase in energy consumption from the general grid.
Yesterday, June 18, the daily maximum consumption recorded in the evening remained at the same level as the maximum of the previous day - on Tuesday, June 17.
Ukrenergo emphasizes that, taking into account weather factors, there is still a need to shift active energy consumption to the period of the most productive operation of solar power plants. Therefore, consumers are asked to use powerful electrical appliances from 10:00 to 18:00.
In general, as of June 19, Ukraine's power system is balanced, and no planned restrictions for consumers are foreseen, the Ministry of Energy assures.
As reported by "Ukrainian Energy", as of yesterday morning, Wednesday, June 18, the level of electricity consumption in the country was 8% lower than on the morning of the previous day, Tuesday.
