The storm knocked out power to 397 settlements in 16 regions
Electricity consumption decreased compared to the previous day
Due to heavy rain, sleet, and wind, 397 settlements in 16 regions were without power this morning. Most of them were in the Khmelnytskyi region. This was reported by the Ukrenergo NPC.
Repair crews from the regional energy company are working to eliminate the consequences of the bad weather. Power supply to the outage subscribers is expected by the end of the day.
Electricity consumption has decreased slightly compared to the previous day. Today, December 17, at 6:00 AM, its level was 2% lower than at this time the previous day. This is explained by the increase in air temperature in most regions of Ukraine.
Yesterday, December 16, the daily maximum consumption was recorded during the daytime. It was 5.5% higher than the maximum of the previous working day. This is explained by the application of a smaller amount of restrictive measures.
No restrictions are expected today. However, as Ukraine's power system continues to recover from twelve massive Russian attacks since the beginning of this year, it remains significantly short of capacity.
Energy experts warn that from 8:00 to 22:00 today there is a need to save electricity. Please do not use several powerful electrical appliances at the same time during this period. Electricity imports continue throughout the day from Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, Moldova. Total volume 20,903 MWh, with maximum capacity in individual hours up to 1151 MW.
As reported by "Ukrainian Energy", the application of power outage schedules is not expected on December 17. However, if the situation changes, Ukrenergo will provide additional information.
