DTEK restores power to 464 Kyiv families in 7 high-rise buildings after nighttime Russian missile attacks

Due to the attack by Russian troops on the capital on the night of July 31, 464 families in 7 high-rise buildings were left without electricity, reports the press service of the DTEK energy holding company.

The transformer substation is damaged, DTEK adds. Power engineers are working on the ground to restore power to everyone as soon as possible.

According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the night of July 31 (from 6:00 p.m. on July 30), the Russians attacked with 317 air attack vehicles: 309 Shahed-type strike UAVs and simulator drones of various types, and 8 Iskander-K cruise missiles.

The main direction of the attack was Kyiv.

According to preliminary data, as of 09:00, air defense systems had shot down/suppressed the electronic warfare capabilities of 291 enemy air attack vehicles (288 strike UAVs and 3 Iskander-K cruise missiles).

"Direct hits of 5 missiles (one of them into a residential building in Kyiv) and 21 strike UAVs were recorded in 12 locations, as well as the fall of downed objects (fragments) in 19 locations, almost all in the capital. Unfortunately, there are dead and injured, condolences to the relatives...", the Air Force said in a statement.

According to Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal, during the enemy attack on the night of Thursday, July 31, the Dnipro, Poltava, Sumy, Mykolaiv, and Kyiv regions were affected. The capital was the main target of the massive shelling.

"There is extensive damage to residential infrastructure. In one of the residential areas of a high-rise building, an entire entrance has been destroyed. As of now, six people are known to have died, including a six-year-old boy. My condolences to all relatives and friends. We also know about dozens of injured people, and everyone is being provided with the necessary assistance," the Minister of Defense noted.

According to him, rescuers, firefighters, medics, and all necessary services have been working at the sites of Russian missile and drone strikes since last night.

As reported by "Ukrainian Energy", on the night of July 22, Russian troops carried out another massive attack on gas production facilities of the Naftogaz Group using dozens of drones.
