Residents of 459 villages left without electricity due to bad weather

28 July 2025

On the morning of July 28, 459 villages in six regions of Ukraine were completely or partially without electricity due to adverse weather conditions

According to the press service of NPC Ukrenergo, as of Monday morning, July 28, 459 settlements in six regions of Ukraine were completely or partially without power due to thunderstorms and gusty winds. The regional power company's repair teams are already working to restore power to all subscribers as soon as possible.

Electricity consumption today, July 28, remains at a high level, Ukrenergo states. According to the transmission system operator, as of 9:30 a.m., its level was 3.4% lower than on the morning of the previous working day, Friday, July 25. The high level of energy consumption is due to a decrease in air temperature in the central, northern and western regions, Ukrenergo explains.

Yesterday, July 27, the daily maximum consumption was recorded in the evening. It was 6.8% higher than the maximum of the previous Sunday, July 20. The reason for such changes is a significant increase in heat throughout Ukraine, compared to the situation a week ago.

In general, according to the report of the Ministry of Energy, the country's power system is balanced as of July 28, and no planned restrictions for consumers are foreseen.

At the same time, Ukrenergo emphasizes that cloudy weather with rain in a significant territory of Ukraine and persistent heat in the southern and eastern regions necessitate economical electricity consumption during this day. Consumers are urged to limit the use of powerful electrical appliances until 10:00 p.m.

As reported by "Ukrainian Energy", as of the morning of the previous working day, Friday, July 25, electricity consumption in Ukraine was growing. The increase in energy consumption was influenced by the heat throughout the country.
