Ukrgazvydobuvannya Complains to Poroshenko and Ministers About Attempts to Block Its Operations

11 July 2017

The company’s management has protested the seizure of its accounts to the President of Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Verkhovna Rada.

They have emphasized that the seizure of the company’s accounts harms its production operations.

It should be recalled here that in May the Enforcement Division of the Department of the State Enforcement Service of the Ministry of Justice made the decision to seize the company’s funds. The respective ruling was issued on the basis of the order of the Kyiv Commercial Court dated May 24, 2017. Right after that, Ukrgazvydobuvannya provided the State Enforcement Service with a resolution of the Kyiv Commercial Court of Appeals on the acceptance of an appeal. The company’s management notes that in accordance with the law, the enforcement authority must return the writ of enforcement to the issuing court after the appeal is accepted for consideration. Nonetheless, the company’s accounts are still seized, its operations are being blocked.

“Despite the absence of any legitimate grounds, the accounts of Ukrgazvydobuvannya PJSC have been blocked for already 20 days because of the attempts of Arab Energy Alliance LLC to get hold of the company’s funds amounting to UAH 231.6 mln,” the letter of protest says.

According to the company’s management, due to the blocking of its accounts, the company may be unable to pay salaries to its employees, pay taxes, make necessary preparations for the next heating season, and fulfill Gas Production Increase Program 20/20.

In its letter of protest, the company’s management has requested that the seizure of its accounts be lifted.

It should be noted here that while UAH 14 bln out of UAH 24 bln will be allocated for subsidies, only UAH 100 mln will be allocated for the Energy Efficiency Fund.
