Starting from 2006, household payments for consumed utility services have fluctuated at the level of 92-97% and currently stand at 103% of the charged amounts.
This information was given by Vice Prime Minister / Minister for Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities, Hennadii Zubko, during a conference call meeting dedicated to preparations for the next heating season, as reported by Biz.Censor quoting the Government’s Press Service.
The Vice Prime Minister emphasized that, compared to previous years, Ukrainians are making timely payments and demonstrate good financial discipline.
“To add to that, households have paid UAH 6.6 bln more for heating in 2017, as compared to the previous year. They discharge their liabilities in the context of not only their current bills, but also their debts for the preceding period,” Zubko said.
The Vice Prime Minister added that with the local budgets having grown from 35% to 50%, households should receive high-quality utility services.
“As of today, there is a mismatch between the growing local budgets and the expenditures on the housing and utilities. That is why I will stress one more time: households timely paying for consumed energy should receive high-quality services,” Zubko said.
