The Government is initiating the creation of eco-industrial parks
These are platforms where entrepreneurs will use alternative energy sources in industry
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a bill on the introduction of the concept of "eco-industrial park".
This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a government meeting on Tuesday, January 7.
The concept of "eco-industrial park" refers to sites where entrepreneurs, in particular, will use alternative energy sources in industry.
"This will be an innovative format of industrial sites, where businesses will use alternative energy sources, take a rational approach to waste management, and optimize the use of water resources," said Denys Shmyhal.
The Prime Minister added that the state, for its part, will provide support in the form of tax breaks and financing for the construction of engineering and transport infrastructure.
As Taras Melnychuk, the permanent representative of the government in the Verkhovna Rada, clarified, the draft Law "On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine on Improving the Functioning of Industrial Parks and Introducing the Eco-Industrial Park Model in Ukraine" has been approved.
The draft law proposes to clarify the requirements for documents, procedures, rights and obligations, as well as the relationships between industrial park entities during their creation and operation.
The terminology has also been simplified - instead of "industrial (industrial) park", the concept of "industrial park" is used, and the list of permitted and prohibited types of economic activity on their territory has been clarified.
The document defines the concepts of "eco-industrial park" and "industrial symbiosis within the industrial park."
It has been established that the territory for the eco-industrial park is being developed taking into account the priority of environmental safety, preservation and development of nature-protected areas and objects.
In addition, from now on, the law on state aid will apply to management companies, initiators of creation, and participants of industrial parks.
As "Ukrainian Energy" reported, the first meeting of the Ukrainian government on January 3 discussed energy. Two key tasks for this year are the restoration and protection of energy facilities.
