It is currently impossible to inspect the dam near the village of Stari Terny of the Kurakhiv community due to constant shelling
On Monday, November 11, Russian troops damaged the Terniv dam of the Kurakhiv Reservoir in Donetsk region. This was announced by the head of the Donetsk regional military administration, Vadym Filashkin.
According to DeepState, the dam has been destroyed. In particular, damage to the water level control mechanism is reported.
It is still impossible to inspect the dam near the village of Stari Terny of the Kurakhiv community due to shelling. At the same time, in the villages along the course of the Vovcha River, the rise of water is recorded. Roman Padun, the head of the Kurakhiv city military administration, informed "Suspilne Donbas" about this.
As Forbes.Ukraine writes, in recent months, the Russian Federation has been advancing in the area of the Kurakhiv Reservoir, occupying several settlements near Kurakhiv. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, over the past day in the Kurakhiv direction, the Russians carried out 48 attacks near Illinka, Vozdvizhenka, Novodmytrivka, and Katerynivka.
The Kurakhiv Reservoir is located on the Vovcha River, which originates near the village of Progress and flows through the Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions. The city of Kurakhove stands on the banks of the river and the reservoir, which was created to cool the Kurakhov TPP.
The Kurakhiv TPP has not been operating since the spring of last year. TPP workers disassembled it into spare parts, which were used to repair other damaged power plants of the DTEK holding, WSJ wrote. All the equipment was removed from the TPP, and only what remained at the facility was that which could not be evacuated. DTEK believes that they will be able to restore the station.
