On October 21, 2024, at 15:00, the first auction in Ukraine for the sale of guarantees of origin of electric energy produced from renewable energy sources will be held at the site of JSC "Market Operator". This is reported on the JSC website.

The declared volume of sales is 50,000 guarantees, which is equivalent to 50,000 MW*h of generated electricity.

Tenders were initiated at Ukrhydroenergo PJSC, which was the first to receive guarantees of origin in the Register of guarantees of origin of electric energy produced from renewable sources, which is administered by the NCRECP.

Trade in guarantees of the origin of "green" energy will take place on transparent, competitive terms, the organizers assure. The price will be formed on the basis of a comparison of the bid initiator's offer with the aggregate demand curve for guarantees of origin from buyers.

Applications for the purchase of guarantees of the origin of "green" energy at the tenders of PrJSC "Ukrhydroenergo" can be submitted from today until 3:00 p.m., Monday, October 21.

Guarantees of origin are a European mechanism for virtual energy labeling. In Ukraine, their trade is implemented as part of the implementation of the EU Directives on encouraging the use of energy from renewable sources (RED).
