Electricity consumption in Ukraine is at the level of a weekend

On Wednesday, January 1, consumption remained at the level of the weekend. This was reported by NPC Ukrenergo. At 7:00, it was 9.7% lower than on Sunday, December 29. Energy experts explain this by the decrease in industrial and business activity on the first day of the year, the increase in air temperature and sunny weather in most regions of Ukraine (which leads to more efficient operation of household solar power plants).
Yesterday, December 31, the daily maximum consumption was recorded in the evening. It was at the same level as the maximum of the previous day.
Energy experts once again remind that the power system continues to recover after thirteen massive attacks carried out by Russian troops in 2024. Emergency restoration work at energy facilities is ongoing. Energy experts are doing everything possible to restore damaged equipment and replace equipment destroyed by the enemy as soon as possible.

As "Ukrainian Energy" reported, according to the Ministry of Energy, 835 MW of distributed generation was connected in Ukraine in 2024. During the current heating season, from 0.9 to 1.8 GW of additional gas capacity is available and used.
