Producers are doing everything possible to provide the country with gas
Today, the largest gas production is in Poltava region, followed by Kharkiv region.
This was stated by the executive director of the Association of Gas Extracting Companies of Ukraine, Artem Petrenko, in a comment to UNIAN, the press service of the Association reports.
"Kharkiv and Poltava regions account for 88% of the total gas production in the country. Almost 10% of the resource is produced in the western regions, where Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions are leading," said Artem Petrenko.
According to him, the Kharkiv region is one of the hottest spots, which suffers greatly from Russian terrorists. Working conditions there are quite difficult, but companies are making every effort to maintain production.
Despite this, Ukrainian producers are doing everything possible to provide the country with gas and are demonstrating a positive trend in their work, the Association emphasizes. The Association predicts that the trend of increasing production will continue in 2025 according to the baseline scenario.
State-owned companies are expected to continue the positive trend that will also be observed in the private sector. However, there are external and internal factors that do not depend on the producers, but which can have a direct impact on the overall volumes, the Association notes. The producers are confident that the stability of tax policy, the immutability of rules and the security situation are key factors in increasing gas production in the country.
As Ukrainian Energy reported, Naftogaz Group companies – JSC Ukrgazvydobuvannya and PJSC Ukrnafta – together produced over 12.3 billion cubic meters of gas in the first ten months of 2024. This is 6% more than in the same period last year.
