07 January 2025

The plans are to build up to 800 MW of industrial wind farms

Ukrainian business continues to develop energy independence. In particular, in the first half of 2024, companies built 200 MW of rooftop solar power plants (SPPs) to cover their own needs.

This was announced by Stanislav Ignatiev, Chairman of the Board of the Ukrainian Association of Renewable Energy (UARE), on the air of Vechir.LIVE on Monday, January 6, reports Noviny.Live.

200 MW is equal to 1/5 of the power of a nuclear reactor.

Also, according to Stanislav Ignatiev, industrialists and entrepreneurs intend to actively develop the wind energy sector.

"Business plans to build up to 800 MW of industrial wind farms, and agricultural enterprises in the western regions of Ukraine are creating small wind farms for energy independence and the sale of surplus electricity, which contributes to the energy sufficiency of local communities," said the chairman of the UAVE board.

As reported by "Ukrainian Energy", The government has developed affordable financing programs for businesses and citizens to purchase energy equipment, and has also simplified the procedures related to the construction, commissioning, and connection of generation facilities to networks as much as possible.
