International business is ready to join the construction project
The State Agency for Infrastructure Restoration and Development, together with international companies, considered projects for the construction of CHP plants that would be fueled by waste.
This was announced on his Facebook page by the head of the Recovery Agency, Serhiy Sukhomlyn.
He wrote that another meeting was held regarding the CHP construction project. PwC and AFRY are ready to help.
"Another step towards Ukraine's energy independence is the construction of a CHP," wrote Serhiy Sukhomlyn. "This is about decentralized generation, which is beneficial not only during war, but also for the energy-independent future of communities."
"CHPs that will operate on RDF fuel, actually obtained from garbage, are independence from the increase in the cost of gas. The construction of CHPs launches the process of building garbage processing plants in communities. This is extremely important. Part of the garbage goes for recycling, part is processed into RDF," the head of the Recovery Agency said in a statement.
"Someone will say it's not the time, because there is a war now. But let's start now, because such projects are implemented in 2-3 years. And they will allow Ukraine to emerge from the war as energy independent as possible," added Serhiy Sukhomlyn.
As reported by "Ukrainian Energy", in Fastiv, Kyiv region, there are plans to process waste into biomethane. Currently, the approval of documentation for the construction of a waste processing plant is underway.
