This year, the intensity of shelling by Russian troops of civilian energy facilities significantly exceeds the number of shelling of energy infrastructure in the previous years of the war. The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine writes about this.

This year alone, the Russians used a total of more than a thousand weapons - drones and missiles of various types, including ballistics.

The cumulative losses of Ukraine's energy capacities as a result of this year's attacks exceed 9 GW. This would be enough to provide electricity for four EU countries.

Even in the absence of massive shelling, attacks on the energy system do not stop. Every day, the Russians attack objects in the Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhya, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, Luhansk, and Kherson regions.

"Despite the fact that the attacks on the Ukrainian energy sector have become the largest in the world, and the destruction caused to it was unknown to any other energy system, the situation in the energy system is under control. Thanks to the efforts of specialists working on the restoration of lost capacities, the actions of the Government, the Ministry of Energy to attract international aid for the restoration of the energy system, the search for solutions for the development of distributed generation, Ukrainians continue to receive electricity for both domestic and industrial consumption, "- the ministry said in a statement.

As "Ukrainian Energy" reported, on Wednesday morning, consumers in 527 settlements were completely or partially without electricity. In particular, due to hostilities, there is a blackout in the Donetsk, Kharkiv, and Sumy regions.
