15 January 2025

The enemy attacked Ukrainian energy facilities, in particular gas infrastructure in eastern and western Ukraine

According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the night of January 15, 2025, the Russian occupiers carried out a combined strike on Ukraine with various types of air-, ground- and sea-based missiles, as well as "Shahed" type strike UAVs and other types of simulator drones.

The defenders note that the enemy attacked Ukrainian energy facilities, in particular gas infrastructure in the Kharkiv, Lviv, and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.

"Unfortunately, as a result of the Russian attack, there are damage to facilities," the Air Force states.

In total, the Air Force radio-technical troops detected and tracked 117 air targets launched by Russian troops.

Aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare equipment, and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defense Forces of Ukraine were involved in repelling the enemy air attack.

At 10:30 on January 15, 77 air targets were confirmed to have been shot down – 30 missiles and 47 strike UAVs. Another 27 did not reach their targets (lost in location).

At the same time, the Air Force emphasizes that not all missiles that were not included in the statistics of those shot down reached their targets.

As reported by "Ukrainian Energy", the target of massive shelling by Russian troops on January 15 was once again the Ukrainian energy sector. The strikes were directed at gas infrastructure and energy facilities. This was announced by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
