Scheduled outages are in effect in the Kherson region due to enemy shelling

12 June 2025

Due to the attack of Russian UAVs, the regional energy authority in Kherson region imposed power supply restrictions. Due to the bad weather in Ukraine, 76 villages in three regions were without power

"As a result of a hostile drone attack in the Kherson region, the distribution system operator (oblenergo) is forced to apply consumption restriction measures in the city of Kherson. Power engineers are doing everything possible to replace the damaged equipment as soon as possible. For now, Kherson still needs to conserve energy, in particular during peak hours in the morning and evening," the press service of NPC Ukrenergo said in a statement.

According to the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, JSC Khersonoblenergo began forming power outage schedules yesterday, June 11, due to the destruction of equipment by Russian strikes.

In addition, as reported yesterday by the head of the city's military administration, Yaroslav Shanko, due to the power outage after the Russian attacks, water in Kherson will be supplied from 7:00 to 9:00 and from 17:00 to 19:00. The water supply schedules will be in effect until the completion of emergency restoration work.

Ukrenergo also reports that due to adverse weather conditions (rain, thunderstorms, and strong gusts of wind), 76 settlements in three regions were completely or partially without electricity as of this morning. All disconnected subscribers are planned to be restored by the end of the day - power engineers are already carrying out emergency restoration work.

Electricity consumption today, Thursday, June 12, is in line with seasonal trends. As of 9:30 a.m., it was the same as the previous day, Wednesday. Yesterday, June 11, the daily maximum consumption was recorded in the evening. It was at the same level as the previous day's maximum, Tuesday, June 10.

The situation in the power system may change, Ukrenergo emphasizes. You can learn about changes by posting messages on the websites and official pages in social networks of your distribution system operator (oblenergo).

As reported by "Ukrainian Energy", on June 11, Russian troops attacked an important energy facility in the Kherson region, and the situation with electricity supply is complicated.
