Electricity consumption in Ukraine is increasing mainly due to heat
According to the press service of NPC Ukrenergo, electricity consumption in Ukraine increased today, Wednesday, July 16. As of 9:30 a.m., its level was 5.1% higher than at the same time the previous day.
Ukrenergo explains these changes by hot weather throughout Ukraine. In addition, high cloudiness and rain in some western regions cause low efficiency of household solar power plants (SPPs), which increases energy consumption from the general network.
Yesterday, July 15, the daily maximum consumption recorded in the evening was at the same level as the previous day - Monday, July 14.
According to the Ministry of Energy, as of July 16, the country's power system is balanced, and no planned restrictions for consumers are foreseen.
At the same time, Ukrenergo reminds that the Ukrainian power system continues to recover after massive Russian missile and drone attacks. Emergency restoration work is ongoing at energy facilities. Therefore, consumers are urged to use electricity rationally.
Also, according to Ukrenergo, as of Wednesday morning, 8 settlements in two regions were completely or partially without power due to adverse weather conditions (thunderstorm, gusts of wind). Regional energy companies' repair teams are restoring damaged lines to restore power to all subscribers as soon as possible.
As reported by "Ukrainian Energy", yesterday, Tuesday, July 15, electricity consumption corresponded to seasonal indicators. In the morning, its level was at the same level as at the same time the previous day - on Monday.
