Electricity consumption in Ukraine decreased on Wednesday
On the morning of May 21, electricity consumption in Ukraine decreased significantly due to the efficient operation of solar power plants
According to the press service of NPC Ukrenergo, as of 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 21, electricity consumption in Ukraine decreased by 7.7% compared to the corresponding time of the previous day, Tuesday, May 20.
"This is explained by the establishment of clear weather practically throughout Ukraine, which ensures the efficient operation of household solar power plants and a corresponding reduction in energy consumption from the general network," the transmission system operator indicates.
"Ukrenergo" emphasizes: given the high efficiency of solar power plants, active energy consumption today should be shifted to daytime. If possible, use powerful electrical appliances from 10:00 to 16:00, the system operator urges.
Yesterday, May 20, the daily maximum consumption was recorded in the evening. It was at the same level as the maximum of the previous working day - Monday, May 19.
The Ukrainian power system is still recovering from massive Russian missile and drone attacks, Ukrenergo reminds. Emergency restoration work is ongoing at energy facilities.

As reported by "Ukrainian Energy", electricity consumption as of yesterday morning, May 20, had stabilized and corresponded to seasonal indicators.
