Instead of 220 volts, 230 will appear. For consumers, the transition will occur "automatically" and imperceptibly
Starting July 1, the voltage standard in the power grid in Ukraine will change: instead of 220 volts, it will be 230. This innovation is due to the European approach to determining the parameters of the quality of power supply, according to the resolution of the National Commission for State Regulation in the Spheres of Energy and Utilities (NKREKP).
"Ekonomichna Pravda" writes that consumers will not feel this transition. For them, it will happen "automatically."
It is also important that changing the voltage level does not threaten the operation of household electrical appliances, because most of them are imported from the EU, and European countries already have a voltage standard of 230 V or more. The voltage level can be checked on the equipment, the manufacturer's website, the charger, etc.
In addition, the transition to the new voltage standard will not affect the amounts of electricity bills, because the funds are charged for the electricity consumed, and voltage is the pressure in the system, not the amount of electricity.
Recall that the National Commission for the Regulation of Electricity and Gas Regulatory Authorities of Ukraine notes that one of the key innovations is the establishment of clear limits for permissible voltage deviation: from 207 to 253 V (±10% of the nominal value of 230 V).
The Commission expects that these changes will have a positive impact on the quality of electricity supply: "Stable voltage will reduce the risks of damage to household appliances sensitive to fluctuations, and will also reduce the need for additional protective equipment, such as stabilizers. In addition, this will contribute to increasing energy efficiency - electrical appliances will be able to operate in optimal mode, without overloads and power losses," the NEURC emphasizes.
As reported by "Ukrainian Energy", JSC "Ukrainian Distribution Networks" (URM) completed the formation process, as a result of which the authorized capital of the company increased fourfold due to the transfer of state stakes in 8 regional energy companies and PJSC "UkrESCO".
