Poland to store gas in Ukraine

31 October 2017

Poland will be allowed use underground gas stores in Ukraine under a new deal between Polish gas giant PGNiG and Ukrainian gas transit operator Ukrtransgaz.

PGNiG official Maciej Woźniak said the deal was key to the Polish company's plans to boost competitiveness in Ukraine.

The deal will allow PGNiG need-based flexible use of the underground storage.

Earlier this month, the companies signed a deal to allow PGNiG to use Ukraine's gas transit network, while earlier still, PGNiG, partnered with Ukraine's private gas trader ERU Trading, signed a deal for the supply of gas to Ukraine.
