Managers of the Lithuanian transmission system operator Litgrid, distribution system operators and representatives of the electricity generation sector visited Ukrenergo facilities
A delegation of Lithuanian energy professionals visited Ukraine - heads of the local transmission system operator Litgrid, distribution system operators, and representatives of the electricity generation sector.
This was reported by the press service of NPC Ukrenergo.
The purpose of the visit is to establish an exchange of experience and discuss the prospects for current cooperation.
It is noted that the guests from Lithuania, together with representatives of the Lithuanian Embassy in Ukraine, held negotiations with the management of NPC Ukrenergo and visited one of the high-voltage substations.
"We are glad to host our partners and true friends. Ukraine and Lithuania are interested in deepening cooperation in the energy sector. In particular, our colleagues are interested in the Ukrainian experience in arranging the protection of key elements of the electricity transmission system, implementing dispatching control in conditions of massive missile and drone attacks. We are very grateful to our Lithuanian colleagues for the assistance they have provided and continue to provide. I am confident that joining forces in countering diverse threats and risks will make the energy systems of both states more stable," said Vitaliy Zaychenko, Chairman of the Board of NPC Ukrenergo.
We will remind you that after the start of massive Russian attacks on the Ukrainian power system, Lithuania provided Ukrenergo with significant assistance in the form of high-voltage equipment. In particular, Lithuanian colleagues transferred autotransformers with oil and attachments, voltage transformers, high-voltage circuit breakers, and other expensive and scarce equipment.
Lithuania is also a donor to the URTF fund, which finances the REPOWER project.
As reported by "Ukrainian Energy", on February 8 this year, the power systems of the Baltic countries were disconnected from the Russian and Belarusian power grids and switched to parallel operation with the synchronous zone of continental Europe. "Ukrenergo" provided consulting assistance to partners from Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia in the process of joining the ENTSO-E network.
