Electricity consumption in Ukraine has stabilized
Emergency restoration work at energy facilities continues
Today, January 29, at 9:30 a.m., the level of electricity consumption in the country was the same as on Tuesday. This was reported by the National Power Company "Ukrenergo".
"On January 28, the daily maximum consumption was recorded in the morning. It was 2.6% lower than the maximum of the previous day. The reason for the decrease in consumption is the increase in air temperature in all regions of Ukraine," the System Operator of the Unified Energy System of Ukraine said in a statement.
They note that the Ukrainian power system is currently being restored after massive Russian missile and drone attacks. Emergency restoration work at energy facilities is ongoing.
This was also confirmed by the Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine, Mykola Kolisnyk, on the air of the "United News" Telethon: "Currently, the situation in the energy system is stable, energy workers are working 24/7, carrying out repair and restoration work on damaged facilities."
Mykola Kolisnyk added that "our power system, despite everything, remains intact, safe and reliable in supplying electricity. Of course, each attack has its consequences, but the Ukrainian power system has shown today that due to the professionalism of energy professionals and interaction with international partners, we are solving the issue of restoration, in particular using the additional equipment received."
However, Ukrenergo notes that the situation in the power system may change. Therefore, it is worth following the messages on the websites and official social media pages of the distribution system operator (oblenergo).
As reported by "Ukrainian Energy", regional energy companies repaired over 29 thousand km of power grids in 2024. Distribution system operators also repaired a number of substations, transformer substations, and electrical equipment.
