This was reported by the press service of the transmission system operator.
During the meeting, representatives of NEC "Ukrenergo" discussed with US government officials what is needed to restore the Ukrainian energy system after Russian shelling and how to protect key equipment of the transmission system.
International support with equipment is extremely important for strengthening the stability of the Ukrainian energy system in war conditions, Oleg Pavlenko, director of investments at Ukrenergo, emphasizes. However, it is equally important to protect the equipment received from partners against Russian attacks.
Ukrenergo notes that thanks to cooperation with the USAID Energy Security Project, the company has received over $126 million in aid since the start of the full-scale invasion. About two dozen powerful autotransformers have been contracted, and some of them have already been installed and are working at Ukrainian substations. Building materials for the construction of protective structures are also supplied with the support of American partners. All this helps to keep light in the homes of Ukrainians.
"Ukrenergo" expressed its gratitude to partners from the US Embassy in Ukraine for their help in this difficult time.
As "Ukrainian Energy" reported, during the period from the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the NEC "Ukrenergo" managed to attract more than 1.5 billion euros of international support.
