The rumors were called manipulation
The National Commission for State Regulation in the Energy and Utilities Industry (NKREKP) called the information disseminated in the mass media about the threat of stopping the import of electricity from the European Union an outright manipulation.
The refutation was made public in the NCRECP.
At the same time, the National Energy Regulator confirmed that Ukrenergo was indeed set several conditions regarding compliance with European standards. The department added that such rumors are started on the eve of the heating season with the aim of destabilizing society.
NKREKP confirmed that they had indeed received a letter from the Director of the Secretariat of the Energy Community Artur Lorkovsky dated October 9, 2024, in which it was stated that Ukrenergo must comply with European standards.
"The letter emphasized the need to maintain the compliance of the Ukrainian OSP NEK "Ukrenergo" with the requirements for separation from Directive (EU) dated June 5, 2019 No. 2019/944 on the general rules of the domestic electricity market, adapted and approved," - wrote in the NCRECP.
In particular, the Secretariat of the Energy Community informed the NCRECP that it is necessary to fill vacancies in the Supervisory Board of "Ukrenergo".
"Yes, the Secretariat of the Energy Community informs the NCRECP, in particular, of the need to further form the Supervisory Board of the operator. It should be noted that all the necessary procedures for this are already taking place within the established time and in the specified order", - the message of the NCRECP says.
The agency emphasized that any information in the mass media about the threat of electricity imports is a blatant manipulation on the eve of the heating season with the aim of destabilizing society. Currently, there are no grounds for stopping the certification of the transmission system operator or the impossibility of using cross-border flows to attract electricity imports.
As reported by "Ukrainian Energy", In August of this year, Russia's revenues from oil exports fell to $15.3 billion. This is the lowest indicator since the first half of 2023.
