Ukrenergo notes increase in electricity consumption on July 18

The increase in energy consumption is caused by low efficiency of solar power plants due to cloudy weather in most regions of Ukraine

According to the press service of NPC Ukrenergo, electricity consumption in Ukraine increased today, Friday, July 18. As of 9:30 a.m., its level was 2.5% higher than on Thursday morning.

The reason for this in Ukrenergo is cloudy weather in most regions of Ukraine and rain in the southwestern region of the country, which causes low efficiency of household solar power plants (SPPs) and a corresponding increase in the level of energy consumption from the general network.

Yesterday, July 17, the daily maximum consumption recorded in the evening was 6.4% lower than the previous day. This was due to the decrease in heat across the entire territory of Ukraine.

As of July 18, the country's power system is balanced, and no planned restrictions for consumers are foreseen, the Ministry of Energy assures.

Also, according to Ukrenergo, due to adverse weather conditions (thunderstorm, gusts of wind), 29 settlements in four regions were completely or partially without electricity on the morning of July 18. It is planned to restore power supply to subscribers by the end of the current day.

The Ministry of Energy emphasizes that energy workers continue to carry out work to restore energy facilities damaged by enemy shelling, they are taking all necessary measures for the stable functioning of the energy system in conditions of constant attacks. At the same time, planned technical measures are being carried out to prepare the energy infrastructure for the heating season and ensure its stable operation in the summer.

Therefore, consumers are urged to use electricity rationally, especially during peak consumption hours in the morning and evening, to help reduce the load on the system.

As reported by "Ukrainian Energy", on the morning of Thursday, July 17, "Ukrenergo" recorded a decrease in energy consumption due to the decrease in heat.
