On the morning of July 23, 122 settlements in seven regions were completely or partially without power due to adverse weather conditions
As reported by the press service of NPC Ukrenergo, as of this morning, Wednesday, July 23, 122 settlements in seven regions were completely or partially without power due to a thunderstorm and strong gusts of wind. Power engineers of regional distribution system operators are already performing emergency restoration work on damaged lines.
It is also reported that as a result of a massive overnight drone attack on critical infrastructure, there are power outages in one of the frontline regions on Wednesday morning. The work of power engineers, who are trying to restore power to all subscribers as quickly as possible, is complicated by periodic air alerts, during which work on damaged facilities is forcibly suspended.
Electricity consumption decreased on July 23, Ukrenergo states. As of 9:30 a.m., its level was 4.9% lower than on the morning of the previous day, Tuesday. The transmission system operator explains this by the decrease in heat in some regions. In addition, sunny weather in most regions (except for some northern ones) determines the high efficiency of household solar power plants (SPPs).
Yesterday, July 22, the daily maximum consumption was recorded in the afternoon. It was 2.8% higher than the maximum of the previous day - on Monday. This is explained by the hot weather throughout Ukraine.
In general, according to the report of the Ministry of Energy, the country's power system is balanced as of July 23, and no planned restrictions for consumers are foreseen.
As reported by "Ukrainian Energy", on the morning of Tuesday, July 22, "Ukrenergo" recorded an increase in electricity consumption in Ukraine. The reason for the increase in energy consumption was the establishment of hot weather in most regions.
