Energy consumption is decreasing mainly due to the establishment of moderate air temperatures in most regions of Ukraine
According to the press service of NPC Ukrenergo, electricity consumption today, Monday, July 21, is showing a downward trend. As of 9:30 a.m., its level was 5.4% lower than on the morning of the previous working day, Friday.
Ukrenergo explains this by the establishment of moderate air temperatures in most regions (except the southern ones). Also, clear weather in a significant territory of Ukraine determines the high efficiency of household solar power plants (SPPs) and a corresponding reduction in energy consumption from the general network.
Yesterday, Sunday, July 20, the daily maximum consumption was recorded in the evening. It was 4.1% lower than the maximum of the previous Sunday, July 13. The reason for such changes is significantly cooler weather than a week earlier.
In general, according to the report of the Ministry of Energy, the country's power system is balanced as of July 21, and no planned restrictions for consumers are foreseen.
At the same time, given the weather conditions, the transmission system operator urges consumers to postpone active energy consumption today to the period of the most efficient operation of the solar power plant - 10:00 to 16:00.
Ukrenergo also reports that as of the morning of July 21, 35 settlements in four regions were completely or partially without electricity due to adverse weather conditions (thunderstorm, strong wind). Power engineers are already performing emergency repair work on damaged lines and plan to restore power to all disconnected subscribers by the end of the day.
As reported by "Ukrainian Energy", on the morning of the previous working day, Friday, July 18, "Ukrenergo" noted an increase in electricity consumption on July 18. The increase in energy consumption was due to the low efficiency of solar power plants due to cloudy weather in most regions of Ukraine.
