According to Ukrainian intelligence, on the eve of winter, Russia is preparing strikes on critical facilities of Ukraine's nuclear energy industry.
This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiga.
According to him, it is about the open distribution devices of nuclear power plants and transmission substations, which are critical for the safe operation of nuclear energy.
Damage to these facilities creates a high risk of a nuclear incident that will have global consequences. Ukrainian special services have already passed on relevant information to partners, including the IAEA.
"Russia is the only country that seized a nuclear power plant in Europe, blackmailing the world. The Ukrainian "peace formula" contains a clause on ensuring radiation and nuclear safety. We call on all international organizations and states that respect the UN Charter to prevent the scenario of a terrorist country." - added Sybiga.
The head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry called on the IAEA, partner countries and other organizations to implement agreements on expanding their missions at a number of energy facilities in Ukraine as soon as possible.
As reported by "Ukrainian Energy", тhe occupiers continue to use the territory of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant for the storage of ammunition and explosives, as well as the placement of personnel of their troops.
