An important facility was hit on the territory of the Russian Federation, namely in the Saratov region, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.
"As part of reducing the enemy's offensive capabilities, on July 1, units of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces, inflicted damage on the territory of the Saratovorgsintez JSC oil refinery in the Saratov region of the Russian Federation," the statement of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reads.
It is indicated that the capacities of this refinery are used by the occupiers to provide fuel and lubricants to Russian military units involved in the armed aggression against Ukraine.
"A hit on the territory of the facility has been confirmed - in particular, technological installations were damaged. A fire broke out. The results of the damage are being clarified," the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine added.
"The defense forces continue to take measures to undermine the military-economic potential of the Russian occupiers and force the Russian Federation to cease armed aggression against Ukraine," the report states.
As reported by "Ukrainian Energy", on June 27, Russian troops attacked an important energy facility in the Kherson region. Several settlements in the region were left without electricity. There were power outages in Kherson. The regional leadership urged residents to prepare for a long-term power outage.
Two power workers were injured in Zaporizhia on July 1 due to a Russian attack. The Stepnohirsk community of the region is without electricity.
