The presidents of both countries discussed the possibility of using Ukrainian coal in Transnistria
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and President of Moldova Maia Sandu discussed the possibility of using Ukrainian coal in Transnistria on Wednesday, January 8.
President Zelensky reported this in his Telegram.
"The important task now is to help Moldova overcome energy challenges and prevent Moscow from inflaming social tension," the Head of State wrote. He is confident that "the current energy situation in Moldova, in particular on the left bank of the Dniester, is an obvious attempt by Russia to manipulate energy resources against the Moldovan authorities."
Zelensky added that Ukraine is ready to help.
"The urgent task is to maintain stability and create conditions for the Moldovan people so that they can live in peace, work for their country, and support our joint movement towards the European Union," Zelenskyy emphasized.
As reported by "Ukrainian Energy", in early December last year, Moldova was on the verge of declaring a state of emergency in the energy sector.
