Prolonged power outages in the ministry are considered groundless
Ukraine is able to go through the winter of 2024-2025 without power outages. Energy Minister German Galushchenko said this at the "Energy of Business 2024" forum organized by Forbes on October 9 in Kyiv. At the same time, the official added that this is on the condition that the Russians do not manage to destroy the critical energy infrastructure facilities that survived the previous attacks.
Herman Galushchenko also refuted the recent forecasts of the UN about long-term power outages, according to which, according to the organization, interruptions from 4 to 18 hours a day are possible. The minister emphasized that these calculations do not have sufficient grounds.
"We called their representatives to understand where such data came from. It turned out that there are no real arguments," Galushchenko said.
According to the minister, power outages in winter may be due to emergency repairs, but this will not be of a systemic nature.
As "Ukrainian Energy" reported, the UN human rights monitoring mission in Ukraine previously reported that in winter in Ukraine, power outages will last from 4 to 18 hours every day.
