Parliament votes down amendments to electricity market bill

14 May 2019

The Verkhovna Rada has rejected the bill on amendments to the law on the electricity market.

Only 150 MPs supported the document, with at least 226 votes required to make the decision, an Ukrinform correspondent reported,

The bill envisages amendments to the Final and Transitional Provisions of the Law "On the Electricity Market". In particular, it is suggested that the reorganization of the State Inspectorate on the Power Stations and Networks Operation and the State Inspectorate on Energy Supervision of the Regimes of Electricity and Heat Consumption be carried out until September 30 through establishing a central executive body that implements the state policy in the field of supervision (control) in the electricity industry
