The company commissioned 83 new wells last year
JSC "Ukrgazvydobuvannya", part of the Naftogaz Group, increased its production of commercial gas to 13.9 billion cubic meters in 2024 compared to 13.2 billion cubic meters in 2023, the press service of NJSC "Naftogaz of Ukraine" reports.
Over the past year, the company commissioned 83 new wells, of which 60 were production wells and 23 were exploration wells.
"Naftogaz Group not only maintains stability, but also demonstrates growth in gas production. Our people every day demonstrate the ability to adapt to current challenges and ensure development even in the most difficult conditions. I thank my colleagues for their joint work and sincere dedication to the profession," said Roman Chumak, Acting Chairman of the Board of NJSC "Naftogaz of Ukraine".
In 2024, the company also increased the drilling of inclined directional wells, which allow gas to be extracted in hard-to-reach places. 60 such wells were drilled (in 2023 - 51). In total, the company drilled 370 thousand meters during the year. This is 14% more than in 2023 and is the maximum indicator in recent years.
As reported by "Ukrainian Energy", according to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, Ukrainian companies increased gas production by 2.2% in 2024 - to over 19 billion cubic meters. The strategic goal is to increase production to over 20 billion cubic meters in the coming years.
