Sumy partially without electricity due to Russian UAV attack
One person was injured and businesses were damaged as a result of the attack
At dawn on May 21, the Russian army attacked Sumy with drones. This was reported by the Sumy Military District. Explosions were heard in the city from 3:30 to 4:15.
According to the MVA, the attack damaged enterprises and other industrial facilities. Power lines were also damaged, leaving part of Sumy without electricity, in particular, water supply facilities. Emergency power supply restoration work is underway. Critical infrastructure facilities have been switched to generators.
The Municipal Water Supply and Sewerage Company reported that at 7:00 a.m., water utility facilities in part of the city were switched to emergency backup power. Water was supplied with low pressure. Since 8:50 a.m., water utility facilities have been operating normally.
As reported by the acting mayor Artem Kobzar, Russian military personnel attacked two enterprises in the city. One of the facilities received 5 hits, the other 2. The necessary services are working on the site.
