At the same time, 90% of communities need financial and professional support to implement relevant projects – DiXi Group study
Over 90% of communities have practical experience implementing energy efficiency projects over the past five years.
These are the results of a survey by the DiXi Group think tank on implemented energy efficiency projects and the programs involved in their financing within the framework of the Municipal Energy Planning for Energy Transition project, which is supported by the European Climate Fund.
32.4% of communities implemented from 4 to 7 projects during this period, another 24.3% - from 1 to 3 projects, another 13.5% - 7-10 projects. It is noted that this indicates the active implementation of energy efficiency measures at the local level, especially in communities that already have a stable practice of implementing such initiatives.
At the same time, 20.3% of communities were able to implement more than 10 projects, which indicates the presence of experts with experience in systematic work in this area. This level of activity creates the prerequisites for scaling up projects, spreading best practices, and more effective use of international and state support in the future.
Over the past five years, 46% of communities have managed to attract funding in the amount of UAH 1 to 20 million, and over 28% of surveyed communities have managed to attract funding in the amount of UAH 20 million. This indicates a high level of activity of communities in finding resources for infrastructure modernization.
The most common measures were: replacing windows and doors; insulating facades, roofs and basements; installing solar panels to ensure autonomous energy supply; modernizing lighting. The study also showed that the majority of communities, over 78%, have an approved Development Strategy, and almost 97% have energy efficiency goals.
The survey was attended by 74 respondents from territorial communities of Ukraine.
