Electricity consumption is decreasing in Ukraine - Ukrenergo

27 January 2025

The reason is warming in all regions of the country

Electricity consumption is showing a downward trend, according to Ukrenergo NPC.

"Today, January 27, at 9:30 a.m., its level was 2.8% lower than at the same time of the previous working day - Friday, January 24," the regulator said in a statement.

It is noted that on January 26, the daily maximum consumption was recorded in the evening. It was 1.7% lower than the maximum of the previous Sunday, January 19. The reason for such changes is significant warming in all regions of Ukraine.

Ukrenergo reminds that the system continues to recover after the Russian massive missile and drone attacks. Emergency and restoration work at energy facilities continues. "Today there is a need for economical consumption of electricity," the department warns and asks to limit the use of powerful electrical appliances from 08:00 to 20:00. Do not turn on several devices at the same time during this period.

However, the situation in the power system may change. Energy professionals are asked to pay attention to the messages on the websites and official social media pages of the distribution system operator (oblenergo).

As reported by "Ukrainian Energy", Ukraine imported electricity worth $669.4 million in 2024, which is $2 million more than the total costs for the period 2019-2024.
