Electricity consumption is at yesterday's level
According to the press service of NPC Ukrenergo, as of the morning of December 18, 104 settlements in five regions - Kyiv, Khmelnytskyi, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, and Chernivtsi - remain without electricity due to difficult weather conditions (rain, strong gusts of wind).
Repair crews from the regional energy company are working to repair the damage. Power supply to the affected customers is expected to be restored by the end of the day. Today, Wednesday, December 18, as of 7:00 AM, the level of electricity consumption was the same as the previous day.
Yesterday, December 17, the daily maximum consumption was recorded in the morning. It was 2.5% higher than the maximum of the previous day — on Monday, December 16. This is explained by the lack of application of restrictive measures.
Ukrenergo does not predict any measures to limit energy supply to household consumers today. At the same time, the transmission system operator reminds that from 8:00 to 20:00 it is necessary to consume electricity economically, namely, not to use several powerful electrical appliances at the same time during this period.
Electricity imports on December 18 will take place throughout the day from Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, and Moldova with a total volume of 16,965 MWh, with a maximum capacity in individual hours of up to 1,017 MW.
As reported by "Ukrainian Energy", as of yesterday morning, Tuesday, December 17, 397 settlements in 16 regions were without electricity due to heavy rain, sleet, and wind. Most of them were in the Khmelnytskyi region.
