Ukrenergo records decrease in electricity consumption in Ukraine

29 May 2025

As of the morning of May 29, electricity consumption was 4.2% lower than the previous day, due to more efficient operation of solar power plants

According to the press service of NPC Ukrenergo, today, Thursday, May 29, as of 9:30 a.m., the level of electricity consumption in Ukraine was 4.2% lower than at the same time the previous day, Wednesday. The reason is less cloud cover in several regions, which leads to more efficient operation of household solar power plants (SPPs).

Yesterday, May 28, the daily maximum consumption was recorded in the morning. It was 1.2% higher than the maximum of the previous day - on Tuesday, May 27.

As of May 29, the country's power system is balanced, and no planned restrictions for consumers are foreseen, the press service of the Ministry of Energy reports.

Energy workers are carrying out scheduled repairs to prepare for the heating season and ensure stable operation of equipment during summer temperature peaks, the Ministry of Energy assures.

At the same time, Ukrenergo informs that due to adverse weather conditions, 21 settlements in two regions remained completely or partially without power as of the morning of May 29. The regional energy company's repair teams are working to restore power to all subscribers as soon as possible. They plan to complete emergency restoration work by the end of the day.

Ukrenergo and the Ministry of Energy remind you that work is underway to restore energy facilities damaged by shelling, and all necessary measures are being taken to ensure the stable functioning of the energy system in conditions of constant attacks.

Consumers are urged to use electricity rationally, especially during peak consumption hours in the morning and evening, to reduce the load on the country's power system.

As reported by "Ukrainian Energy", as of yesterday morning, Wednesday, May 28, the level of electricity consumption was 2.6% higher than the corresponding time on Tuesday.
