The first people's power plant will be built in Ukraine

29 May 2025

Inzhur company is working in the village of Sofiivska Borshchagovka

Today, May 29, the Inzhur company resumed construction of one of the first people's power plants in Ukraine in the village of Sofiivska Borshchahivka. The company's press service reported this.

The day before, on May 28, - the report says - the Kyiv Court of Appeal granted Inzhur Energy's appeal and allowed construction to continue. The case was initiated by the Kyiv-Svyatoshyn District Prosecutor's Office. Prosecutors claimed that the power plant violates safety standards and is being built over a high-pressure gas pipeline. The court found the charges unfounded and overturned the illegal ruling of the Kyiv-Svyatoshyn District Court to ban it.

It is noted that the project with a total capacity of 34 MW is being implemented within the framework of the Presidential Program for the Development of Small Generation under a contract with NPC Ukrenergo. Inzhur has received all the permits required by law for the construction of the power plant.

The first phase of the project, with a capacity of 18 MW, is planned to be completed by October 2025 in order to launch it before the start of the heating season.

The company emphasizes that the court decision in favor of Inzhur is an important precedent for all private investors working to restore Ukraine's energy system. The decision confirms that in wartime, the interests of the state, energy security, and the well-being of people must come first.

For reference: the Inzhur Energy investment fund of the Inzhur company has united over 3,200 investors for the construction of a gas-fired power plant, who together invested over UAH 612.9 million in the construction of the power plant. These are ordinary Ukrainians who want to make their contribution to supporting the country's energy system. The minimum investment to become a co-owner of the energy company is from UAH 6,000.

As reported by "Ukrainian Energy", over two months, more than 1,200 disruptions in the energy sector have been recorded due to Russian attacks. 70 incidents of disruptions in the functioning of energy networks were detected in the oil and gas sector, 11 in the coal sector.
