Companies of the OKKO group want to build a wind power plant with a capacity of 147 MW in Volyn
The EBRD is preparing to provide a $62 million long-term loan to the companies "Wind Power GS I Volyn" and "Wind Power GS I Volyn 3" for the construction of a wind power plant with a capacity of 147 MW in the Volyn region. These companies belong to the Cypriot GNG Retail Limited, which is part of the OKKO group.
This is stated in a message on the EBRD website, the "NaftoRynok" portal reports.
The allocation of money should be finally approved on December 4, 2024.
"This initiative not only contributes to Ukraine's transition to electricity generation from renewable sources, but also strengthens energy security in the face of constant attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. The wind farm is expected to produce about 380 GWh of renewable electricity with zero carbon emissions per year, which will make it possible to reduce CO2 emissions by more than 245,000 tons per year," the bank said in a statement.
The total cost of the project, according to the EBRD, is 235 million euros.
As "Ukrainian Energy" reported, "Onur Group" company is building a wind power plant consisting of 20 generators in the Volodymyr district of Volyn.
