10 villages in Ivano-Frankivsk region lost power due to bad weather

02 January 2025

Electricity consumption in Ukraine is low due to sunny weather and warming

Due to difficult weather conditions, 10 settlements in the Ivano-Frankivsk region were without power this morning. This was reported by NPC Ukrenergo. The regional power company's repair teams are working to restore damaged lines. Subscribers are promised to be powered within a few hours.

Today, January 2, electricity consumption, at 7:00, was 4.9% lower than at the same time on Tuesday, December 31. This is explained by higher air temperatures and sunny weather in most regions of Ukraine, which leads to more efficient operation of household solar power plants.

Ukrenergo reminds that power system is still recovering from 13 massive missile and drone attacks by Russian troops in 2024. Emergency restoration work at energy facilities is still ongoing. Energy workers are doing everything possible to restore damaged equipment and replace equipment destroyed by the Russians as soon as possible.

The situation in the power system may change. Follow the messages on the websites and official social media pages of your distribution system operator (oblenergo).

As reported by "Ukrainian Energy", electricity consumption in Ukraine on January 1 was at the level of a weekend. The reason is the decrease in industrial and business activity on the first day of the year, increased air temperature, and sunny weather in most regions.
