Electricity consumption in Ukraine increased on June 4 due to reduced efficiency of solar power plants due to cloudy weather in several regions
According to the press service of NPC Ukrenergo, as of Wednesday morning, June 4, 181 settlements in six regions remained completely or partially without power due to adverse weather conditions (heavy rains, thunderstorms, gusts of wind).
By the end of the day, all disconnected subscribers are planned to be restored - regional energy company repair crews are already carrying out emergency and restoration work on damaged lines, Ukrenergo assures.
At the same time, the system operator emphasizes that a storm warning has been issued again in certain regions today.
Ukrenergo also recorded an increase in electricity consumption in the country today, June 4. As of 9:30, its level was 3.6% higher than at the same time the previous day. The reason for this is cloudy weather in several regions, which causes lower efficiency of household solar power plants (SPPs) and a corresponding increase in energy consumption from the general network.
Yesterday, June 3, the daily maximum consumption was recorded in the evening. It was at the same level as the maximum of the previous day — on Monday, June 2.
In general, as of June 4, the country's power system is balanced, and no planned restrictions for consumers are foreseen, the Ministry of Energy reports.
At the same time, the Ministry of Energy calls on consumers to use electricity rationally, especially during peak consumption hours in the morning and evening, to help reduce the load on the power system.
As Ukrainian Energy reported, yesterday, Tuesday, June 3, electricity consumption in Ukraine showed a downward trend due to increased efficiency of solar power plants due to sunny weather in most regions.
