Greenpeace Ukraine has released new satellite evidence regarding the potential restart of the ZNPP
Greenpeace Ukraine has discovered that since May 6, the Russians have installed 11 new electricity poles west of the occupied village of Azovske, Zaporizhia region, for a total additional distance of 3.6 km south of the occupied village of Shevchenko, Zaporizhia region.
This was announced by Greenpeace Ukraine based on the results of an assessment of new satellite images by Planet.
"At the eastern end of the line, 10 more pylons were installed from May 22 to June 3, 3.3 km south of occupied Klyuchevo, Donetsk region," the organization said in a statement.
As a reminder, according to a Greenpeace Ukraine report, Russian attempts to lay a new power line for the illegal restart of the Zheleznodorozhny NPP have become apparent. Relevant work is ongoing in the occupied Ukrainian territories.
On May 28, 2025, Ukraine sent a verbal note to the IAEA, in which it condemned the Russian Federation's obvious intentions to arbitrarily resume the operation of the Zaporizhzhia NPP.
As "Ukrainian Energy" reported, the Ministry of Energy believes that Russia will not be able to safely operate the Zapadnaya NPP. The Zapadnaya NPP does not produce electricity because its units are in a "cold" shutdown due to the occupation. At the same time, the plant receives electricity from the Ukrainian energy system.
