It is proposed to set a price ceiling of $30. It is currently $60
The McFaul-Yermak group proposes lowering the price ceiling for Russian oil to $30. The current price ceiling is $60.
This was announced by the head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, on Telegram.
"For the Kremlin, energy exports are the main source of financing the war. The higher the oil prices, the more weapons and aggressive intentions in the Russian Federation. The cheaper the oil, the closer the peace," Andriy Yermak is sure.
He is convinced that "a strict price cap and a further reduction in the price of a barrel of Russian oil is the path to global security."
Because "since the time of Brezhnev, Moscow has viewed energy exports as a tool of geopolitics. Putin has completely adopted this model of behavior," the head of the Presidential Office said in a statement.
Andriy Yermak believes that "any ideas of the newly elected US President Donald Trump and his team regarding reducing oil prices can only be welcomed. And the Russian Federation will still be forced to export oil, even if it gives it away at cost. But with low prices in Europe, there will be no war," the head of the President's Office is confident.
As reported by "Ukrainian Energy", tankers with Russian oil are stuck off the coast of China due to US sanctions. The vessels have fallen under the most aggressive package of US sanctions imposed against Russian oil exports since the invasion of Ukraine began in 2022.
