In the EU, they consider a ban on Russian liquefied natural gas and aluminum

The EU considers the possibility of gradually introducing restrictions on imports of Russian liquefied natural gas and aluminum. About it writes Bloomberg.

It is noted that such restrictions will include up to 16 packages of EU sanctions against the Russian Federation.

According to the agency, a new package of sanctions includes restrictions on dozens of vessels of the shadow fleet of Russian oil and further export control over goods used for military purposes. This step will also cause more banks to disconnect the international SWIFT system.

The Bloomberg message states that aluminum restrictions will be gradual and the temporary framework and scale still have to be determined. At the same time, the rejection of LNG can be made either in the form of sanctions or within the framework of the road card, which the executive body of the block plans to present next month.

Projects are still discussed in EU countries and may change to official representation.

At the same time, some officials have stated that sanctions against Russian pipeline gas are inappropriate, since a group of countries, including Hungary and Slovakia, still depends on Gazprom's supply. However, the prohibition on LNG, which has reached a record level last year, looks more feasible.

Bloomberg sources explain that the three countries that import the largest share of this fuel - Spain, Belgium or France - should not block punitive measures against Russia.
